The new Garmin GPSMAP 3205 packs big features into a small package. The GPSMAP 3205 features a 5”, 256-color, 640 x 480 pixel display that is perfect in any lighting situation you can throw at it. The adjustable backlight will control both the display and the keypad for optimal lighting in both day and night situations.
As part of the Garmin Marine Network the GPSMAP 3205 can integrated with a GPSMAP 3206/3210 system.. Included with the 3205 is the Garmin GPS 17 sensor with 30 feet of cable, which provides a 12 parallel channel WAAS receiver for accuracy to 9 feet. The Garmin GPSMAP 3205 has the memory to store 4,000 waypoints, 50 reversible routes with up to 300 points per route, 10,000-point active track log, 15 saved tracks each with 750 points and 10 proximity waypoints. The GPSMAP 3205 has a built-in marine map for the entire United States Coastline including Alaska and Hawaii that is derived from their New Bluechart G2 technology. Information such as navaids, depth contours, spot soundings, wrecks, port plans, restricted areas and 3D perspectives are included with the GPSMAP 3205 and it can be further enhanced with the purchase of an optional Bluechart G2 chart. Each Garmin 3205 unit also has two composite video inputs, one VGA PC Monitor output and 3 data ports for NMEA communication.
Garmin Marine Network-The New Garmin Marine Network allows you to connect several options or additional displays to your 3205/3210 chartplotters.
Dual Stations- If you want a display for a second Navigation station and do not want to break the bank take a look at the Garmin GPSMAP 3205. The GPSMAP 3205 would be great on the fly bridge, below deck or in the cockpit. As part of the Garmin Marine Network, the 3205 will access all of the devices and displays, as well as share waypoints, routes, tracks and cartography, with all displays on your network system.
Garmin GSD-21 and GSD-22 Sounder Options-The GSD-21 is Garmin's remote sounder, and when added to the 3205 it will turn the unit into a combination Chartplotter/Sounder. The GSD-21 is a 500-watt sounder using both 50 and 200 kHz for optimal performance in both shallow and deep water. The GSD-21 can also be used as a dual beam system providing 400-watts and the ability to operate the transducer with different cone angles. The GSD-22 is Garmin’s digital fishfinder black box. Satellite Weather Service-The new GDL 30/30A will allow you to get real time satellite weather(requires the purchase of monthly service)with information including Current conditions, City forecasts, NEXRAD radar with precipitation type(animated, high resolution), Surface air pressure, Surface analysis (Highs, Lows and fronts), Lightning, Storm cell size, speed and direction, Hurricane track, Visibility forecast, Wind speed, Sea surface temperature, Wind direction, Wave period, Wave direction, Wave height, and Buoy data. The new GDL 30A will have the Satellite weather information as well as XM Radio capabilities.
Garmin GMR-21 and GMR-41 Marine Radar--
The Garmin Marine Network also has the ability to add a Marine Radar. Garmin has released their GMR-21 and GMR-41, both are dome style(Dimensions: 24” diameter, 8” high), the GMR-21 is a 2kW(24 nautical mile) and the GMR-41 is a 4kW(36 nautical mile). Both GMR Radar units feature a 3.6-degree horizontal and 25-degree vertical Beamwidth, for more accurate target acquisitions and penetration through fog and rain.
Please note when you have two displays or if you are adding a GMR Radar and a GDL30/30A to a single display unit you will need to purchase a GMS 10.
